Embody 02:47
Embody Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman When I laid my head to bed, I was feeling weak. When I laid my head to bed, I was feeling weak. I’m pretty sure some stars died while I was asleep. Had to warm a cold place, Find a spot in time and space. Know what is right and what is wrong, Have a feeling and pass it on. Had to warm a cold place, Find a spot in time and space. Know what is right and what is wrong, Have a feeling and pass it on. I embody the stars around me, On this blue dot, Don’t be sorry. If you feel that, Honest feeling, You will know that you’re not dreaming. Start your journey, you’re not dreaming, Start your journey, you’re not dreaming, Start your journey, you’re not dreaming, Start your journey, you’re not dreaming. Had to warm a cold place, Find a spot in time and space. Know what is right and what is wrong, Have a feeling and pass it on. Had to warm a cold place, Find a spot in time and space. Know what is right and what is wrong, Have a feeling and pass it on.

Tree Tops 04:37
Tree Tops Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman The tree tops were twisted off within months of my departure. I ran downstairs and swung my arms, I could hear the wood move. My breath was pulled and my ears went pop, I said, what in the world was that? I ran back upstairs, a pile of doors, The mess in my room could have been much much more. I can deal with anything because I dealt with that tornado. Life will give you discouraging feelings, I failed a course in piano. Be wise, not dumb and do not lose your ability to function. There’s solutions to the battles you lose, Making the right move is for you to choose. There was a time long ago, where all of the days, They would just fall in a row, And all of my possesions became cigarette stained. I choose to stay home and create on my own. Trying to leave an impression, I made something each day and my mind went away. Things had to change and those changes were made. That’s when I packed up my things and I moved away. I can deal with anything because I dealt with that madness. Life will give you discouraging feelings, I failed a course in mathematics. Be wise, not dumb and do not lose your ability to function. There’s solutions to the battles you lose, Making the right move is for you to choose. My family thins as I grow old. Never could imagine the pain it could hold. Not to mention the pets that I once had, I miss you Zuzu. The empathy I have puts my heart under strain, When I write down the words I don’t feel as much pain, So get out that pen and write your words again. It’s what I have to do to not feel as blue. I can deal with everything because I rose from a deep pain. Life will give you discouraging feelings. My heart and brain they stood up to strain. Be wise, not dumb and do not lose your ability to function. There’s benefits to the battles you’ll win, The feeling you have to find is something you have to find within.

Larger Than A Little Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman You think about love, What’s it to you? Think of all the dreams you’ve had While snuggled up in bed. Whether you’re lonely, Or completely in love and happy, What is love to you? Love is a thing you don’t always choose, Love is thing that you don’t abuse, Love is a thing to keep close to you. Just leave out the cold part, To avoid a broken heart, I’d like to think that these love songs did something to me, But they didn’t and this is to you, from me. You think about love, What’s it to you? Think of all the dreams you’ve had While snuggled up in bed. Whether you’re lonely, Or completely in love and happy, What is love to you? Love is a thing you don’t always choose, Love is thing that you don’t abuse, Love is a thing to keep close to you. True love is unconditional, For better, for worse get lost in my verse. A love song is traditional, It surely wouldn’t be the first, First or last, as clear as glass, right there in the middle, Love is such a powerful thing, Much larger than a little. It’s the only thing that makes you want to grow old, And equally want to die young, A feeling of flying within the clouds, And also six feet under the ground. Makes your heart race in mysterious ways, It can make you laugh for days. Smile so much and make your blood pump, Happy for hundreds of days.

Pearl 04:47
Pearl Music By: Nathaniel Hockman Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman & Lucas Alexander Runyan Get lost in the sunrise, It’s fading away. Unleash an appetite, For yet another day. Old age is a cold breeze, Best to stay at home? What good is a warm bed, When you’re there all alone. Pearl, You’re like a lily, growing fast. The light in your eyes, will shine all the time, Making life divine. The world, Shares the shape as you, But the Earth is blue. You’re as strong as the waves, in all of the days, You might be the moon. Get lost in the sunrise, It’s fading away. Unleash an appetite, For yet another day. Old age is a cold breeze, Best to stay at home? What good is a warm bed, When you’re there all alone. When, The candle is lit and we don’t just melt the wax, We light up the world by burning the wick, Making memories last. Don’t, Shorten your wick when the candle is lit. Putting warmth in the wax, The time will go fast. Watch the time tick quick. Get lost in the sunrise, It’s fading away. Unleash an appetite, For yet another day. Old age is a cold breeze, Best to stay at home? What good is a warm bed, When you’re there all alone. We, Walk on the surface, it’s not what we dream to be, Ten thousand evenings, Each one fades away, You must feel the light of day. Love, It wraps around you so well, Through and through. The wick and the wax, Brings light that will last, All the love to you. Get lost in the sunrise, It’s fading away. Unleash an appetite, For yet another day. Old age is a cold breeze, Best to stay at home? What good is a warm bed, When you’re there all alone.

Moon Dock 03:57
Moon Dock Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman ISS; ISS to Houston, Do you copy? Houston: Copy that, always and forever. How’s the weather up there? ISS: David Graham here, I’m on the observation deck, reporting from the ISS. Although it has been a long few months, I really think you guys need to see what I am looking at. Houston: Requesting detailed anaylisis. ISS: There seems to be a human life-form, possibly a man, or it looks like blue jeans and a white tank top making snow angels on the lunar surface near, Mare Tranquillitatis. Houston: Are you sure? ISS: See for yourself Everyone should know a thing or two about the moon, And the stars that shine so bright every night. We catch a glimpse of you and I. It’s warm and it’s cold in a different way, When we leave the Earth’s orbit later on today, So put away your money and your mundane ways, Shoot for the moon and take a ride today. Lack of air, It’s oval path, Spins heads around the entire globe, Just follow the course you chose, And let everybody know. Looking through the glass, Make observation notes, When you find a face that smiles back, And you tie down that rope, Step right off your boat. Everyone should know a thing or two about the moon, And the stars that shine so bright every night. We catch a glimpse of you and I. It’s warm and it’s cold in a different way, When we leave the Earth’s orbit later on today, So put away your money and your mundane ways, Shoot for the moon and take a ride today. Your eyes become your ship, As far as you can see, You just traveled to the moon, No need to come home soon. Just look right at the moon. The rays she displays, On the ground, not a sound with our feet down, Don’t be afraid, The moon is yours to take.

Starlight 03:59
Starlight Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman If I die tomorrow, If I die today, I left the living with joy and love. I left it yesterday. If I die tomorrow, If I die today, I left the living with joy and love. I left it yesterday. I owe you the sky and the moon. Hopefully your eyes get there soon. I owe you the trees and the ocean blue, And the nearest star to you. If I die tomorrow, If I die today, I’d like to let you hear my words and understand my praise. Cry about our laughter, Smile about the rain, Nothing but love for you my dear, Your love dissolves the pain. I owe you the sky and the moon. Hopefully your eyes get there soon. I owe you the trees and the ocean blue, And the nearest star to you. People leave and people stay, It’s hard to tell who will go which way. No harm no foul they’ll come and go, Just know it’s a road they got to go. You can’t be so certain, what’s behind tomorrow’s curtain. The life you live just live it well, And spread your love and live to tell.

Ding-A-Derry 05:44
Ding-A-Derry Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman I’m deep inside a cave and I’m not hiding, I would not be lying if I said I was dying. I’m underneath the ice and my eyes are crying, Past the point of trying, Are these bag-of-bones worth reviving? Never know, you never know, who is hurting, Never know, you never know, what you can do, Never know, you never know, you can’t speak for the future, You never know, you never know. It’s cruel to see the world from the dark-side, Even if I still had pride just know that I thought my dream died. The warmth inside our hearts, there’s no misleading, You are finally feeling a memory burn that won’t be fleeting. Never know, you never know, who is hurting, Never know, you never know, what you can do, Never know, you never know, you can’t speak for the future, You never know, you never know. There are times I want to die, The pain is too much who would want to survive. But you can and you will, Live to see another day because the future is bright, I know, This is how you get that way. Never know, you never know, who is hurting, Never know, you never know, what you can do, Never know, you never know, you can’t speak for the future, You never know, you never know.

The Times To Learn Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman In this life we know, we think we know. You cannot even see it in our past because the books are not even right. I just wish I knew more about the moon. But that’s just me, I’d like to see you learn. The same just for me, Everyone should want to learn, Everyone should want to learn. Running around in circles and you think you’re going to win, Everlasting race of conversation fighting from within. Absolutely getting nowhere, maybe too many cups of joe, Trying to resolve but they won’t give you the go. It’s all about I know this, I know that, We know a lot of things proven by fact. Our problem is our sources and we don’t even want to listen, We arm our mental forces, how about we take the time to listen. Take the time to listen, Take the time to listen. In this life we know, we think we know. You cannot even see it in our past because the books are not even right. I just wish I knew more about the stars. But that’s just me, I’d like to see you learn. The same just for me, Everyone should want to learn, Everyone should want to learn. I find nothing fun about a great debate, Nothing great about your know it all trait, I knew how this would end before you tried to set me strait. There’s thinking and talking, arguing and not speaking, You have to choose one of these things, While feeling one of these things, You say this, I say that, Sometimes we say the same things that are not proven by fact. When we don’t even want to listen, We are not even close to wanting to learn, Your arguments have been listed, Just take the time to learn. Just take those times to learn, Just take those times to learn.

Azul Frío 03:29
Azul Frio Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman People on this planet on this cold blue dot, are your feelings right? When you’re looking at the stars, would you care to hear the cries of another at night? People on this planet on this cold blue dot, how do you sleep at night? When you’re looking at the stars, would you care to hear the cries of another at night? Life has a funny way, Of taking all your dreams away. At least you had a life where one could dream, A dream of a life with no tear in the seam. One would like to think that, Our brains are stronger than our hearts. Hearts and minds, together combined, Tells a story that we sadly rewind. The world is so cold. That is the truth being told. One day, one day, Your time will finally unfold. The world is so cold. That is the truth being told. I have hunger, I have thirst. Please give us your love instead. We are hungry and left for dead. This is the blood that we bled. Please give us your love instead, I’m here to make you my friend.

Smile 04:11
Smile Music By: Nathaniel Hockman Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman & David Hockman I put on a smile this morning, Because we all need one, you know? Remember most of all, Give a smile to the ones you love, It may help, you know. I put on a smile this morning, Because we all need one, you know? Remember most of all, Give a smile to the ones you love, It may help, you know. Smile Marcella, God I miss you, Wally. And all the love from, Mural & Lucy, I had to list my, Grand-family, Because all of their DNA, Equals me. It’s not always easy giving a smile all the time, And to everyone that comes your way, But it should help you and also someone else, To get through the day. I’m one part David, I’m one part Kathleen. There’s one thing I know. It’s what they taught me. Always keep that smile, Do what makes me happy, Never lose that smile. I thank my family. It’s not always easy giving a smile all the time, And to everyone that comes your way, But it should help you and also someone else, To get through the day. The poem was written 3/12/1994, Nowhere near a happy time, My dad just wanted to smile more. It’s been 18 years now out of the safe, see. My father helped me, One part David, And one part Nee Nee. It’s not every day that I need some help from you, Then when I needed some you just swooped right in with your poem, on cue. I never asked for much in my lifetime, My dad reminded me that I’ve helped a lot in my short time. It’s not always easy giving a smile all the time, And to everyone that comes your way, But it should help you and also someone else, To get through the day. You cannot always find the things you’ve always known, You grab the wheel and push the fuel, When you find a poem that makes you truly feel like, Gold on this road and a combination of words with a man on a plan, With me and myself and the happiness of life, On a good track, Sometimes a smile is the only way to react. Smile.

Hot Potato 03:35
Hot Potato Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman Put your hands in your pockets and not the light sockets, You’ll shoot like a rocket in space. There’s one thing I’ll tell you my friend, I’ll never let myself get burned again. If playing with fire is your true desire, You’ll find your hands burning one day. A day like tomorrow chock-full of that sorrow, And pain that does not go away. Do not eliminate the history of a brutal ability, Or shove these words under a rug. No matter how snug your love, Never ignore your gut. Some call it patterns and some cake on lies, Just look at these eyes and speak, You cannot always feel the way, The way that my eyes want to see. The things that you suspect and feel in your belly and brain, You’re not insane. Because the magnitude of what I was feeling, Was cheek to cheek to the dealing. There’s no time for tension, Just lost in a lesson, I’ll find this to be funny one day. No matter what I would do, I found a way to be spared by you.

Expel 04:20
Expel Music & Lyrics By: Nathaniel Hockman You cry to the stars, Never been part of this world. Your people just see you smiling, Never said a negative word. HISTORY ON REPEAT HISTORY ON REPEAT Cry to the stars, Never been part of this world, Your people just see you smiling, Never said a negative word. Cry to the stars, Never been part of this world, People just see you smiling, Never been a negative word. Cry to the stars, Never been part of this world, People just see you smiling, Never said a negative word. If you’re ever feeling low, Can’t find the time to sew, A hopeless lonely star, Just take my memory and know, Somebody loved you so much, Somebody loved you to death. It’s going to happen again, Just wait and don’t hold your breath. Because you’re someone special, To everyone including me, You never know, you never know, you never know. You never know, you never know, you never know. You never know, you never know, you never know. You never know, you never know, you never know. You never know, you never know, you never know. You never know, you never know.

about

On December 19th 2016, I completed my first solo LP in 5 years. The songs range from 2011-2016 and they embody something special.

All music was over-dubbed and recorded into a BOSS-864 8-track recorder and mixed with Adobe Audition 1.0. Synth tracks were recorded using a Korg microKorg synthesizer. Bass tracks were recorded with an Alvarez. I recorded vocal tracks using a CAD drum microphone with a sock and coffee can pop filter. I used a Dean electric guitar to spread its wings. I also used a LTD ESP SG electric on the album. Drum tracks were recorded on two separate drum kits. One was a mixture off brand drum set and then I used a Pearl for the other tracks. Drum recordings for the album took place over a year before the other instruments were recorded. I decided to sample my own drumming and loop parts of my original recordings instead. I used a Casio keyboard for a couple tracks and also a Yamaha classical acoustic on, “Tree Tops.” Other than that the album featured bongos, a tambourine, and my out of tune Wurlitzer upright piano on a couple songs. All instrumentation was recorded by me.
