Synopsis
Aside from the original songs I wrote on this album, and all the jams with a lot of synthesizer action, there are many remixes of classic super mario on this mix that are not available or listed within the track-listing. This time around I got in touch with my itailian plumber side and recorded an album that kind of shows my passion for Super Nintendo as a child. "Mod(ern) 2008-bit" is a compilation including new original tunes such as, Goose Feathers, Help Me Make It Right, Sexton AKA Legacy,
Peridot, Lost Level Isthmus, & Questionable At Best,
to name a few. They all included the works and beats, and a creative usage of samples of those I am influenced by. The track that is listed as "Legacy", is backed by a couple second sample from the song, "Amber" with Chad Sexton on the drums from 311. Another remix I had to piece together without any knowledge of the tempos of the beat or sample, I created a solid jam sampling Tim Mahoney from the B-side "Wondering Around (In My Head)". But like I had mentioned before there are many remixes of your standard, vintage 8-bit fan favorites (i.e. Super Mario Brothers, etc.), and re-recorded versions of songs, and last but not least, I was able to have a collaboration with Toledo native Dylan Wise on one of the songs on the CD entitled, "Lift Off. There are all sorts of instruments used during the recording process of this album. The Concept album also includes a photo album full of doodles I drew for each song. There are a total of 24 tracks on this CD. This album is free to the general public. All song were recorded using a BOSS-864, 8-track Digital Recorder. Tracks mixed using Adobe Audition 1.0. Like all of the others, this album was mixed, recorded, produced by Nathaniel Hockman.
