Synopsis
This album includes some favorites, some covers, and few new original tracks recorded in their purest form using acoustic instruments played so chill your toes will fall off. If it is jazz you enjoy this album may interest you. Hints of fusion, some skats, and vocal harmonies are other things experimented on this CD.
"Natechure" or Nature and it is made up of songs where all of the instruments I used were acoustic. There are more vocal tracks on this mix and all of the drums were recorded by me using a drum kit provided by Matthew Cothern. There is no electronics on this album. This CD was being recorded and produced at the very same time period of the recording of MOD(ern) 2008-bit. Both of the mixes are completely different from each other but when your recording 2 different projects at the same time, using the same equipment, its hard not to let them slowly morph into one another. A lot of the songs on the electronic album have a huuuuge dose of acoustic guitars because of the cd, "Nature". It wasn't easy to record the two albums at once not because of the time investments but because they were two concept albums completely different from one another.
This mix was very drum oriented. Since I was determined to record a cd using only a real drum set for all of the drum tracks, I went as far as including a few jams that are nothing but drums and percussion. I had some help with from a good friend by the name of Markus Bauerle with the percussion and also allowing me to barrow his congas for a very long time. Also a man by the name of Lucas Runyan supplied me with some acoustic guitar tracks on some of the songs where I am playing the brushes on the snare. Lucas has found himself on a few of my albums and he helped a great deal on this one. Also, a friend of mine named Dylan Alexander provided some jammage on guitar and percussion during the sessions with Markus.
Last but not least there were acouple cover songs on this cd."On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson and "Yesterday" by the Beatles. All song were recorded using a BOSS-864, 8-track Digital Recorder. Tracks mixed using Adobe Audition 1.0. Like all of the others, this album was mixed, recorded, produced by Nathaniel Hockman
